I have helped a number of clients on a pro bono basis and also taken part in charity initiatives both at home and overseas. I have participated in several projects allowing me to use my many years of experience to educate and improve access to justice. I hope to be able to continue much of my charity and overseas work, as well as expand my involvement in some of the projects and initiatives I am already involved in.

Charity Work
Work with Local Schools
I have recently been involved in providing training to local schools around advocacy skills. I find this work particularly rewarding as I hope that this can not only equip young people with skills in speaking and constructing arguments but that it may also inspire them to pursue a career in law.
The African Prisons Project
For the last couple of years, I have been working closely with the African Prisons Projects (APP). In February 2019, I journeyed over to Nairobi, Kenya and Kampala, Uganda to continue my work with this excellent organisation. This was the second time that I had worked with the APP, having also spent a month with the group in 2018.
The APP initiative seeks to provide high-quality legal advice, training and education to those living and working in prison. It is a project I truly align with as it helps those in need of justice access it for themselves. The project is essential in improving access to justice for people in African prisons.
My objective in participating in this project is to support the APP in ensuring that they can meet their goals, have enough training to carry out the work required to achieve their goals and to determine whether the existing systems are in place to allow them to go about their work.
It has been a privilege to be part of this project and to be able to meet and share with the people behind organisations which are wholly committed to bringing dignity and hope to the men, women and children in prison communities in Africa.
Pro Bono Work
I can help clients on a pro bono basis where I believe my legal expertise and assistance is required, and where the case is of significance. I assist with the preparation of the case and also representing clients at hearings. I have a strong belief in access to justice and understand that proper and skilled representation is a vital part of this.
I am also attached to my local citizens advice bureau providing ad hoc input as an HLA - Honorary Legal Advisor.
