KZ new 600x400I am a UK qualified Barrister and Solicitor (non-practising), a CEDR Accredited Mediator, and a Visiting Lecturer in Law.

I graduated with a First-Class Honours degree in Law from the London School of Economics (2HC Scholar), before completing my masters in law at the University of Oxford (OCIS Scholar), and Harvard Law School (Fulbright Scholar).

I enjoy a diverse practice as a lawyer working on matters spanning from civil and commercial to Regulatory Law, Employment Law and Public Law, Prison Law and Education Law. I have appeared before a range of courts and specialist tribunals. I am regularly instructed in complex matters, often beyond my level of call.

Investigations

I am an experienced investigator and have led internal investigations and inquiries in the corporate, public and charitable sector – often involving multiple jurisdictions. Recent investigations include a complex racial discrimination complaint at a public body and an employment grievance investigation within an international NGO.

I am currently a counsel to the Public Inquiry into Undercover Policing and security cleared to SC Level. As a result, I have good knowledge of police law and other public law issues including judicial review, and claims under the Human Rights Act.

Training and Seminars

In addition to court work, I provide training and seminars to law firms, corporate and financial institutions as well as charities on a range of legal matters on legal and policy issues.

Previous Solicitor Experience

Before becoming a Barrister, I was a Solicitor at ‘Magic Circle’ law firms Clifford Chance LLP and Allen & Overy LLP in London, where I specialised in Financial Services Regulatory Law acting for some of the world’s largest corporate and financial institutions on a range of high-profile, international and cross-border matters. I also worked on high-value International Commercial Arbitration and Mediation matters, complex Banking & Finance transactions, and in forming Private Funds.

Leadership and Wider Experience

I am passionate about the law, legal practice, diversity and social mobility. I enjoy travelling and exploring different cultures and traditions having travelled to over 50 countries.

I am recognised for my leadership and dispute resolution skills as a current and former: director; trustee; and governor of various national and international charities and organisations. In 2009, I was a Global Fellow of the Prime Minister.

I am involved in a number of organisations which has expanded my knowledge and understanding of various sectors. These include:
